Chess · LITTLE TABLE

01

The essentials

White moves first. Select a piece and a legal destination, then select that destination again or confirm. Your move must leave your own king safe. Checkmate wins; having no legal move without being in check is stalemate and a draw.

02

Your first moves

Castling, en passant and promotion to queen, rook, bishop or knight are supported. You cannot castle out of check, through an attacked square or into check. When learning, protect your king and check whether a move leaves a piece undefended.

03

Playing at Little Table

Threefold repetition or 50 moves by each side without a pawn move or capture can support a draw claim. Fivefold repetition or 75 such moves produces an automatic draw, with checkmate taking priority. The site has no chess clock or rating ladder; its AI is a practice opponent.
