Rules and how to play
9×9 edge-escape tafl: sixteen attackers face a king and eight defenders. Pieces slide orthogonally without jumping. Only the king may stop on the throne; other pieces may cross it. Sandwich enemies to capture; an empty throne helps capture. The king needs four attackers on the throne, three beside it, or an opposing pair elsewhere. The king escapes on any edge. Three repetitions or 120 actions without progress draws.
