Rules and how to play
Two players share 16 unique pieces. Each is light or dark, tall or short, round or square, solid or hollow. The first player gives a piece to their rival, who places it on an empty square and then chooses the next piece for the other player. A horizontal, vertical or full diagonal of four pieces sharing at least one feature is a Trait Lines. Pieces belong to neither player. To win, open “Trait Lines!”, indicate the line and declare it. If you miss your new line and give a piece away, your rival may claim that line before placing. Once the next piece is placed, the old line can no longer be claimed. This site gives both players a final check after the 16th piece; if neither declares, the game draws. Rematches alternate the first giver. Base straight-line rules only, without the advanced 2×2 square variant. Solo uses a local practice AI.
