Rules and how to play

Two-player base Insect Encirclement: 11 tiles each (queen, 2 beetles, 2 spiders, 3 grasshoppers, 3 ants). Place one tile or move one per turn. Each player’s first tile touches the other; later placements may touch only your color, determined by the top of each stack. Place your queen by your fourth turn, before moving any tile. Keep the hive connected even while a piece is lifted. Ground movement must slide around an edge, never through a closed gate. Queen: one step. Beetle: one step, including climbing onto stacks; only the top tile moves and tall stacks can block its passage. Grasshopper: jump straight over at least one occupied space to the first empty space. Spider: exactly three sliding steps, without revisiting a space. Ant: any reachable sliding distance. New tiles may fill enclosed gaps if placement colors allow, but never enter on top of a stack. If no placement or move is possible, pass. Surround the opposing queen’s six neighboring spaces with either color to win; surrounding both queens draws. Site rules: alternate first seat; automatic draw on three repeated positions or 240 turns. No expansions. Solo uses a local practice AI.
